so I was doing a study today after reading a devotional I get... and here is the verse: Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans (Jer 24:4-5 NKJV). >> now this is what struck me: (1) God was the one to SEND them into captivity... His hand was so completely in this! He used another nation to bring about discipline to His people who had turned away from Him. They thought they were being sent AWAY from God, but really He was using it for their own good to bring them BACK to Him... (hmmm.. and 2) makes me consider the times when things were NOT going so good for me... maybe (just maybe) it was Gods way of working for my own good... so that I would have a choice: TURN TO HIM, or become bitter and throw in the towel completely and give into a life without Him... SOOO glad He knew me better than I knew myself!
