so I was nominated by Matthew Thomas Ryan to post 10 tracks that mean something to me, or have been important in my life .. great! Time to take a stroll down memory lane! Edit - Ive Chose to do 11 11. Alanis Morissette - Ironic https://youtube/watch?v=Jne9t8sHpUc Sitting in me Mums Car with me brothers and sisters and everyone absolutely belting this tune out at the top of their lungs, and completely out of key lol. 10. Kirbys Dreamland - Green Greens https://youtube/watch?v=OCH6nQYflwY One of the first games that was mine and not my brothers! Parents bought me a Nintendo Gameboy for my 3rd Birthday (if i remember rightly) with this and Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening. Used to spend hours playing this game, and still one of my favourites to this day. 9. Howard Shore - Concerning Hobbits https://youtube/watch?v=_pGaz_qN0cw So as most people know I went to New Zealand in 2013, Had the best time of my life, and one of my favourite memories was visiting Hobbiton. Pretty much spent the hole day humming this tune. 8. John Williams - Jurassic Park Theme https://youtube/watch?v=D8zlUUrFK-M One of my favourite films and one of the main inspirations for me to want to become a sound designer. 7. Incubus - Battlestar Scralatchtica https://youtube/watch?v=61Qbahy7BGk Absolute Belting tune. Learnt to play this on the bass guitar for one of my GCSE solo performances before I started learning to play the drums. 6. Dean Martin - Red Roses for a blue lady https://youtube/watch?v=VhJo7xfAvwI John Jones knows why I have chose this song =D Many memories of walking back from the Limberlost WMC with my Dad and his mates singing this, followed by Im not drunk, Im just merry! 5. Sum 41 - Motivation https://youtube/watch?v=X-iBGSLkfCU Remember playing this at a college gig with Mark Fullerton and Alex Westbury, and me doing an appalling job of the lead vocals! Was still a major laugh though =D 4. Living Colour - Open Letter https://youtube/watch?v=6V5VkMqM07s What a tune! Played this at college FMP with Reuben Reynolds, Gemma Gould, Haleema Smith and Daz (Dont have him on FB). Was an epic gig and I loved getting to play some different styles of music with these guys! 3. Faith No More - From Out of Nowhere https://youtube/watch?v=j4tsGWdarHc Driving around at about 5 AM with Antony Leedham looking for a Macdonalds that was open, some ass hole cut us up and we almost ended up in the back of the dudes car, just as the chorus of this song kicked in =D 2. Porcupine Tree - Sound of Muzak https://youtube/watch?v=hp0OXICuZek Played this for a Uni Solo Performance. This is one of the first songs that I learned by reading the sheet music, its also one of my favourite songs to play on drums mainly due to the groove and feel of the track. 1. Slayer - War Ensemble https://youtube/watch?v=Y2e47wBWTV8 The first Slayer track I ever heard, and that really exposed me to heavy metal and heavy music. Although my taste in music has changed alot since then, I would not be sitting here as the person I am if it wasnt for my infactuation with Slayer in my early teens. I nominate Aimee Smith, Steven Swift, Richard Barran and anyone else who can be arsed to do this.
