so Im researching the subject of immortality for my fake futurism podcast Im working on, and I dig up this 2005 documentary Exploring Life Extension - have a vague feeling I have watched this before some years ago, but I watched it again just now to bask in the self-assuredness of early 21st century transhumanism. It functions as a long advertisement for cryonics, featuring not yet then but current president of Alcor Life Extension Institute, Max More (who popularized the current usage of the term transhumanism) and a bunch of other people who believe immortality is the most important project humanity should be worried about right now. This is a pretty fascinating explication of a certain techno-libertarian scientism that characterizes well much of the existing futurology forums that I see out in the world, which I aim to mock dutifully as yet another morbid manifestation of the mystic bourgeoisie (the cyborgeoisie) [cc Kat Herding] youtube/watch?v=567XHO0-1qQ
