so cute. the next door neighbor baby calls me and asks if I can please go over to the nearby high school Poly Technic and check to see if her youngest brother is there and at their mobilehome. so I says no problem. off I went. this was about 3:00-ish I think. he was there at the school bus drop off point. he talked with his sister on my cell. (oh by the way my cell phone so paid for itself today. having it I mean). so shes speaking with him on speaker in the back seat of Le Volvo. I had simply handed him the phone over the seat as we still sat parked. I bring him home. he had apparently gotten out of school early today. he sat for like 2 hours waiting for someone. this has happened once before last year. Ive heard the story from his elder sister and then from him today. so last year when it happened he simply walked home. needless to say the whole family freaked. so I ask him if hed like to stop off at taco bell (my treat!).. hes so mellow. he says, no thats alright. so I asked do you have lunch meat fixings at home. he answers yes. so off towards home we go. oh yeah his sister had told him to call her on their landline once hes home. we get home and part ways. I told him if he needs anything to just knock. so Im home and a few minutes go by. I hear a tiny knock. so I answer the door. its the little guy. hes like can I call my mom on your phone mikey. I says sure. I try my bestest to hand him the nearest corded phone. he dials his mom. he does the cutest thing with the corded phone. he holds it like a smart phone in front of him like its in speaker mode. he talks to his mom. shyly. I intercede and say from afar to his mom can I take him to taco bell. she says yes and please do. Ill pay you for taco bell when I get home. now Ya All know I dont sweat stuff like that. so I says alright. so his mommy says I love you to him. so cute! she has to telephone prod the shy response out of him. he answers back I love you to mom. hes their youngest. so off to taco bell we head. on the way over there I tell my young friend the barber shop story. true story. I tell him that one day back when I was getting regular hair cuts. I was at the barber shop at near their 6:00 p.m. closing time. like 10 or 20 minutes til. there are two daddys in there waiting each with his own 7 years young sons. Im sitting across from them both. there are male and female barbers both at this shop. were all sitting quietly. the barbers were probably working on other customers at the time. so I had a good few minutes of quiet think time. I start visually thinking about the daddys and their sons. you know how wonderful it is to be a dad and for the boys. so thats it I thought to myself. I got up quietly and told the barbers Id come back tomorrow. the barbers all knew me. they quickly said no, no, michael well work on you. I looked back at the dads and their sons quietly. then back to the barbers and no, smiling. I said I want the daddys and their sons to have this time!! :)
