JOHN 11V11-14 "{11:11} These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. {11:12} Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. {11:13} Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. {11:14} Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead".(He sleeps - - He is dead!) When did Martha expect her brother, Lazarus, to live again?John 11:23, 24 "{11:23} Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. {11:24} Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day" SO When did Martha expect her brother, Lazarus, to live again? (In the resurrection, at the last day) QUESTION ..If there were no resurrection, what would be the fate of all the dead? 1 Cor. 15:16-19-26 "{15:16} For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: {15:17} And if Christ be not raised, your faith [is] vain; ye are yet in your sins. {15:18} Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. {15:19} If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. {15:20} But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. {15:21} For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. {15:22} For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.15:23} But everyman in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. {15:24} Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. {15:25} For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. {15:26} The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death.
