so . . had an Endoscopy this morning . . been having some swallowing / throat / digestive issues . . I have whats know as a globus a feeling that theres something stuck in my throat . .even though physical examination shows nothing there . . While they were in there they did a Dilation think of it as a balloon angioplasty for the throat. So my throat is a little raw and to the relief of some it will mean that I wont be talking as much for a week or so . . :-) they also confirmed that there are some significant issues in my digestive track . . specifically Heliobacter Plyori which is the bacterial infection that leads to ulcers . . ( which is something that Ive been dealing with for over a year ) the globus could be a reaction to that and / or could be an allergic reaction . . Ill be following up with my Gastro - Enterologist Dr and I would assume its going to be another round of SERIOUS antibiotics to knock out the H Plyori ( 14+ pills a day of two different Anti Bs ) Woke up from the sedation feeling fine, felt like I could have driven home fine if they had let me, but when I got home I crawled into bed and slept for five hours . . the good news ? last time I was in for this sort of exam it took them seven tries to get an IV started . . ( ouch! ) this time they got it on the first try ! I have to say though that the service and attention that you get in the Same Day Surgery offices at St Josephs is magnificent . . . no complaints there at all ! thanks again to Michael Silver Meteor Murphy for the early morning taxi service today!
