so, i DO have a Lauren Bacall story. i was 21 and working at Hughes -Moss casting in NYC. i had run out for lunch and when i stepped into the elevator, Lauren Bacall and 2 business suited associates of hers, stepped in behind me. we all stood there, and finally i asked Ms Bacall? What floor would you like? and she said all deep and gravely....WELL, at least theres ONE gentlemen in this elevator! to which the suits stared at their feet. Im going to 7 my dear and i was lucky enough to be able to escort her into our offices...as we were casting for Sweet Bird of Youth at the time. but we hadnt expected her that day! She was very stern, but had warmth all at the same time.
