A crowd dressed in sorrow had gathered to share their tragedy as one. He stood, knees barely supporting his weight, trying desperately to come to terms. Gathering all the strength he could, he made his way toward the front of the church, glancing at all the faces of those whom he spent a life with. As he approached the bedside he could not help but notice the line of those who wanted to say last goodbyes. Only one individual made him nearly collapse. A woman covered in black except for her eyes as blue as the ocean with waves flowing beyond the shore. She approached the coffin and placed her hand upon the body laying in peace and, with tears pouring down her cheeks, placed a final kiss upon his lips as her legs could no longer stand the emotion then collapsed to the ground. He approached her slowly, his eyes beginning to water, bent down beside her and placed his hand upon her shoulder. She stopped for a moment and glanced as if expecting to see a hand resting where he lay his hand. It was that moment that she realized that he was still with her and she burst open with emotion and let out a heartbreaking cry that made the angels weep. He wrapped his arms around her and in a moment that brought them together one last time, they both gained the strength to speak just a simple sentence together Everything will be alright. I love you and will always be with you. you are never forgotten.
