so, more on the bragging on awesome movement - went to Publix over here to feed my kale salad addiction (Eat Smart Sweet Kale Salad is the bomb)... today is the 27th...all the bags of salad had an expiration of the 28th. drat. so, i grab 2 bags and walk to customer service and ask if they can call someone from produce to see if there are fresher bags in the back (i like to buy a couple bags at a time and nosh through the week) so...a few minutes of waiting (maybe 5?) and the manager of produce comes up to tell me that they have one crate in the back...and it all has the same expiration date :( booooooooo im so bummed. he says that there is some scheduled on tuesdays truck...but did i want the 2 packs i had grabbed? so i said, sure and went to grab my wallet, and pull out my debit card - he said no, you misunderstand. you can HAVE them. say what!? i think i might have actually said huh? to him...because i really did NOT understand that he was saying i could have them. he continued: were just going to pitch them out if theyre unpurchased by end of day tomorrow anyway. so you can just take them and he put them into a grocery bag and handed them to me. yes, i was at a loss for words, for real. yeah, so thanks to Publix for allowing your managers to make decisions like that, and thanks to Steve for being THAT DAMN AWESOME. and yes:i will be back to buy-buy some salad from you guys :) solid. seriously solid.
