so my internet and phones were perfect this morning. There is a nice lawyer moving in next door in our wing and the AT&T phone guy comes in and hooks her up to phone/internet. Suddenly my phones and net go down. Totally. Of course I ask him how long my stuff will be down because my entire practice is on the Cloud and now I have no access to any information and am now in legal jeopardy and financial jeopardy. He says about 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, her phones and net are up...and Im still down. I ask him whats up. He said hed fix it. 45 minutes go by. Were still down and he doesnt know why. He says Its not my fault. ME: HOW...can it NOT be YOUR fault??? I was fine until you started working now Im down. It wasnt flying monkeys that took us down...it was you. Now CAN you fix it??? Answer: No. I sear his ears off a bit in a lovely North Jersey Italian sort of way and he gets me on the phone with his manager, George. George:Can you give me your account number so I can give you a repair ticket? Me: WHAT??? So I get a repair guy SENT??? You have one here! get him to fix what he broke! Ticket...that means 3-5 days...NO WAY you are taking me down that long. NOW..I need this fixed NOW. If anything happens because of my legal jeopardy when I treat someone Ill sue you personally and AT&T...NOW... George: Ummm..(ack, wow this guy is pissed). Sir, Ill have someone out within the hour. Me; Thats acceptable but WHY cant you have the guy that is HERE fix it? George: He only sets stuff up, he doesnt fix it. Me: (rolls eyes). Fine, George ONE HOUR....or else. ---------------------- I walk back upstairs and really nicely ask him to try and fix it before he goes. Result: The set up guy finds that he unplugged something in the set up, he plugged it back in, voila. Everything fixed. ----------- lesson? Righteous indignation works.
