. . . so several yrs ago I applied for & was selected for a special assignment in our police dept Community Services Bureau (CSB) & tht particular div was responsible for spearheading the holiday food baskets to special families (I dont like to use the term needy Fam). During that time I met some great ppl that I personally took under my wings & would tke care of . . . adding special extra items to their baskets (sparkling cider, fancy dinner rolls, fresh vegis & bakery cakes etc). Well due to various budget cuts etc., those programs hve unfortunately been cut but the needs of the ppl on my list have not stopped! So I STILL cont to contact thm every yr like I did when I was in CSB & let thm know Im personally bringing their holiday basket! So just now, one of my senior citizen ladies just texted me (in very broken wording #%^*+😂) to see if I was still coming by to drop off their basket this year & I assured her I wouldnt miss it for the world!! She responded by saying thanks bc she wasnt even sure she had texted the right person! Dont worry Mrs X, I gotchu!!! Oh & just in case you wonder why I posted this & why I so readily reach out to help ppl -- its bc I dont mind sharing that growing up in/a Fam of six kids & my Dad being the sole provider on a modest income, I came up on the other side of receiving those special baskets & can personally attest to how much of a blessing they can be and although Im very Blessed now, I promised I never shall forget!!
