I employ you all to show me a tournament were a player of a team that couldnt even make it to the Semi finals was awarded the golden ball. Do you know what a golden ball is? You have to be the player with the most impact THROUGHOUT the tournament! James Rodriguez, correct me if am wrong, was man of the match in just 1 match (against Uruguay) and Messi was man of the match 4 times. Every goal he scored were match winning goals, even the assist he got was a match winning assist. Nobody had an impact in this world cup for his country as Messi had for Argentina. The only person that would have given him a fight because his country got to the final also, was muller but he was only outstanding against Portugal, his team mate were equally brilliant. Scoring the most goals doesnt equate to being the most valuable player in a tournament, Maradona was not the highest goal scorer in 86 but he was also awarded the golden Ball.
