some rather startling information been flowing all day long from the KINKS DAVE DAVIES regarding session drumming personnel on some of their most famous work. its always worth checking out his page (he actually personally maintains & posts it) but heres some highlights: Always loved Bobby Grahams drumming on IM A LOVER NOT A FIGHTER - also a great rare guitar solo by Ray. He didnt play that many solos but Ive always loved this one. Yes, Bobby Graham played drums on You Really Got Me, All Day and All of the Night and Tired of Waiting and our first album. I like Clem. Clem is a great guy and a great drummer and better still - an Arsenal supporter. I cant remember details about early recordings but Clem definitely played on Live Life and some other stuff, earlier stuff I cant remember right now. he helped to sit in on some live shows when Mick was ill in the early days. Clem Cattini played on nearly all of the Kinks second album Kinda Kinks but Mick Avory played on Where Have All the Good Times Gone. Bobby Graham told me that he had to sign a confidentiality letter with Dave Clark saying that he had to keep quiet about the Dave Clark thing. When you listen to bits and pieces its so obvious whos playing drums. And they cant sue him because hes dead. Theres another drummer who played on Father Christmas but I cant remember the guys name - I love that track - if anybody knows his name please tell me. I only met him one day and he played great, had a beer with him in the pub and then I never saw him again. Another great drummer who played with the Kinks was Nick Trevisick - check out this track A ROCK AND ROLL FANTASY Nick played on from Misfits. the band virtually broke up before Misfits. Baptist and Nobby left and it was really just basically me and Ray. Mick didnt seem to be around and I wrote Trust Your Heart with the idea of trying to get things started adn then Ray wrote one of his most beautiful songs Rock n roll Fantasy adn teh emotions of it helped galvanize us and Misfits grew out of those two songs. Peavey Mace - always sounded the best just about half an hour before they blew up because they used really cheap components. Clem Cattini did a great job playing drums LIVE LIFE. I love it - its one of my favorite tracks. I really liked Mick Avorys drumming on Rock n Roll Cities Mick was a good drummer. Im just trying to give credit where credits due.
