somehow, this worked... what i didnt see while stranded in the pedestrian cross-walk at sahara and las vegas blvd, i was able to see within five minutes with the hood up in my reserved parking space at home. im using a 10am fuse, which is more than enough protection against possible fire, but it is not a fusible link that is .5 sq mm rated. i still have to research that, but for now, the van started instantly and did not blow a 10amp fuse on the first short test trip. the second photo shows the tools of the trade, wire stripper 15mm deep socket and wrench, side post battery tool, and of course some of the old burnt insulation of the fusible link that was replaced with my in line fuse. i used a modified o-ring connector, but i will correct that in the future, or not... i get the feeling i will have to replace another fusible link at this point in the future anyway... now i have to check this spot in a no start situation... its amazing that i even fixed this, i thought for sure the fuel pump would be history because it shorted or something, but its still pumping and not blowing this fuse (so far).
