someone once said history is not counter-revolutionary but an account of what happened but a lot of African history has been told by the winners hence they exaggerated their feats singing their own praises, hence we should tell our own stories.we should create a culture of storytelling and have storytellers of our own.many storytellers of African stories today choose to write about the surface problems that have befallen our countries without a clear diagnosis of the root of the problem and this have stemmed a huge criticism on our governments.i am not defending their ineffectiveness and corruption but this is only painting a picture that we as a people we cant rule ourselves.these writings are not helping Africa in any way but what they are just doing is making these writers popular. That is why personally i respect Mr Ngugi,as a writer and storyteller, his unflinching position to Africa and the enemy is clear, actually history is a living tissue with Mr Ngugi.
