sometimes when i travel, studio owners tell me that if they are competing at a particular conventions regionals or nationals that they will have a faculty member of that convention come set a piece for their studio. they think that by them doing that it will help familiarize the faculty with their kids and that they will get more attention and acknowledgment. and also, that the number will do well at the competition because a member of the faculty choreographed it. 1. do you think that this is true - that those studios will get more scholarships, and that the number will score higher simply because it was choreographed by a faculty member? or do you think other studios make this scenario up to make excuses for their losses? 2. how do you honestly feel about competitions/conventions allowing competition routines set by their own faculty to compete? i am curious what you guys have to say on this subject.
