spotify When I first heard of streaming music services, I would spoof my IP address to appear as though I was in Europe so I could use Spotify. It wasnt convenient and quite honestly I didnt like the UI/Interface very much. When it became available I enjoyed the simplicity of the service Rdio, a direct competitor with Spotify and the newer BeatsMusic. Paying a small monthly to have access to a huge library of music has been fantastic. Ive spent less than I ever would buying all of this new music, so I see huge savings from year to year. Although the UI is fantastic, the only issue I had with Rdio had to do with the lack of a lot of friends and the impression that I was finding less and less interesting music over time. And really its user base is so much smaller than others, I was basically only getting recommendations from a few friends in San Francisco. My friend Jeff was using Beats for a while and convinced me to try it based on a single feature, The Sentence. I liked this feature, sort of, but it never really dialed in on what I wanted. But then I had a party at my house and wanted a constant stream of music (a Radio function)...a feature I really enjoyed with Rdio. This time I though I would just try Spotify again...why not? A lot of people I know use it, and I still from time to time would receive messages about friends following me (even though I hadnt used the service in years, my free accounts was still open. Im finding music all over again and love the social features. And obviously everyone likes it to as I see a ton of apps that tie into the service. Now I pay for Spotify and have cancelled both Rdio and Beats accounts. So say hello to me on Spotify (again)!
