story time! as a few of you already know, my excellent colleague - TopicsExpress

story time! as a few of you already know, my excellent colleague Adam Frost and I are going to spend the next couple of months promoting a DIY Music Festival taking place at the 1794 Meetinghouse in New Salem, Mass. (and elsewhere) at the intersection of July and August. Weve been working a series in New Salem (and elsewhere) for a couple years now. Its called Northern Routes. This festival will be called Northern Routes New Music Festival and it carries on in the same exploratory vein. Were super excited about the lineup which is now nearly complete and is, to my mind, nothing BUT highlights. Weve been fortunate enough to get legendary lunatic, Peter Stampfel, of the Holy Modal Rounders (and the early Fugs! how many other people can claim that double barrel credential? not many! I guess only Steve Weber!) to close out the festival on Saturday, August 2nd. Additionally we have an amazing roster of musicians from near and far that includes Glenn Jones, Marissa Nadler, Juan Wauters, Metal Mountains, Matt Weston, Glitter Pen (Kurt Weismans new early music project), Trevor Healy, MV & EE, Bunwinkies, Matt Weston, Tongue Oven, Passerine, the Grudges, Crystalline Roses Band, Twilight Tipi, Tarp, Willie Lane, Zzones. Did I forget somebody? Very probably. Will there be surprises? Most definitely. We are stretching the fabric of good sense until it tears itself into a new and unexpected shape. Pardon our dust and bless this mess. So why am I telling you this? Well naturally because Id like to see you in New Salem (and elsewhere) in August, but also because we need your help. In the next few months you will be subjected to the steady, piston-like rhythm of our well-oiled-two-man-do-it-ourselves-promotional-machine. If that sounds hot to you, well thats because it is. Do me a favor and help us spread the word. When you see us beating that drum, flogging that dead horse on FB (and elsewhere), dont just pass it by, forgive us our trespass and then forward it on, give it a thumbs up, leave us a huzzah or a good natured razzing (we can take it) cuz thats how we spread the word on a shoestring. We have already received the generous help of the folks who organize the annual Garlic & Arts Festival here in Orange every Fall and thats going a long way towards getting this off the ground, but we would love further opportunities for sponsorships, in-kind or cash donations (however small) to make sure all bases are covered and we dont run out of beer in New Salem (and elsewhere) this August. Get in touch! But dont worry, if you dont, we will! If you would like to keep informed please like the NR page https://facebook/NorthernRoutes Northern Routes Loves Yu
