submitted by: Sarah Orsay Hi all, am looking for feedback on our 13 month old Merle, Taffy. She has always been the runt and is only now 85 pounds (but not ribsy, just small -- tall and lean - failure to thrive is how some would describe it, but personality wise she was a normal active puppy until 3 days ago. She is completely listless and wont eat or drink. Yesterday she did not move from her crate (she loves her crate and the door was open all day, allowing her free movement if she wanted). We took her to the vet 2 days ago, had her hydrated subcutaneously. She will take ice cubes of chicken broth in small amounts and yesterday ate 3 boiled ckn strips for breakfast and 3 for lunch but now is refusing food again. Her eyes are sunken, she looks terrible. We will return to the vet today, of course, but wondered if anyone had any ideas. We assume this is viral -- her symptoms do not match bloat or blockage. She is not vomiting, does not have the runs, does not seem to be in obvious pain, etc. Just totally listless, almost like pneumonia, but no cough. She has been vaccinated for Lyme and we give her flea and tick monthly. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.
