Jummah preparationsshould begin on Thursdaysuch as clipping the nails,removing of the hair etc(Ihya aul-Uloom, vol. 1,page 161) 2. To have a bath (Ghusl)(Bukhari, Tirmidhi, IbnMajah)On one Friday, Rasulallahsaid: “O Muslims! AllahTa’ala has made this daya day of Eid. So have abath on this day,whoever has perfumeshould apply it, and usethe Miswaak. “ (IbnMajah) 3. To use Miswaak (Ibid) 4. To use Attar (Perfume)(Ibid) 5. To wear nice clothes(Abu Dawood, Chapter ofGhusl on the day ofJummah) 6. To proceed early aspossible to the Masjid forJummahRasulallah (Pbuh)said : “On the day ofJummah, the angelsstand at theentrance of thatMasjid in whichJummah salaat is tobe offered. Theywrite down thename of the personwho enters theMasjid first, andthereafter the nameof the person whofollows, and theycontinue doing this.The person whoentered first willreceive the rewardof sacrificing acamel in the path ofAllah; the one whofollowed him willget the reward ofsacrificing a cow,thereafter a chicken,thereafter thereward of giving anegg as charity in thepath of Allah. Oncethe khutbahcommences, theangels close theregister and beginlistening to thekhutbah. “ (Bukhariand Muslim) 7. To walk to the Masjid ifpossible for every step is areward of a years Nafl Fast(Tirmidhi) 8. One should listen veryattentively to the khutbaeven if one does notunderstand. Oneshould not speak or evenwarn another to keepquite while the khutba isin progress. 9. To try to sit as close aspossible to the Imaam.(Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi) 10. If the Saffs (rows) arealready filled, one shouldnot jump over theshoulders of the musalliesin order to get to thefront. (Abu Dawood) 11. One should not fiddlewith clothes or fingers butlisten attentively (IbnMajah).... May Allah make this jummah a blessed one, may Allah crown our effort all ... Ameen
