sure was a gorgeous day at OCTOBERFEST in La Veta yesterday!got to see a friend I had not seen since the 80s, other family and friends,visited with nice strangers,got paid some very nice compliments on my pretty black boots with red roses,bought pure beautiful Honey from Gardner,delicious jellies from Manzanola,homemade fudge from Blanca,raw crystals,hand dug on a nearby ranch,got lots of good ideas for Halloween/Christmas crafts,ate some delicious green chile with beans,chicharones and a hot tortilla,came home thru the backroads,drove past a very old ranch to take some pictures of our old 90+ friends home,he is no longer there,went to the cowboy roundup in the sky but we could feel his spirit,like he was waiting there for us to come by and say hello!it was so beautiful,peaceful and lonesome there,we saw lots of bull elk in the meadows,deer,and turkeys too,got home past dark,did chores,slept well after the long day,Yeehaw! 2 of my dtrs and the kiddos are being reunited today in Texas,God is good!the suns shinin,got more blessings than I deserve,theres a good cowboy here working on the place,the logsplitter is running full blast,got a well full of clean water,a flush toilet,cupboards are full,soft,comfy beds,a roof that dont leak,good neighbors,plenty of good friends,2 old barking dogs,a jug full of Kentucky whiskey,some fine red wine, meat in the freezer,a few dollars in the bank, some ol Chevy pickup trucks with a tank full of gas,and 40 acres of prime Colorado real estate, aint no wolves howling at the backdoor,even the blue jays and squirrels are fat around here,LOL,love my hubby,kids ,grandkids, and furry ones,love the LORD,may your Sunday be blessed with the goodness of GOD,pray for everything~~~
