team doolin is saying good-bye to facebook. we are approaching the 2 year mark of when rick first starting getting sick and symptoms pointed to congestive heart failure. he lived almost 13 months after his diagnosis of pericardial mesothelioma and that was a lot longer than we were given by the first doctor who saw him. the mesothelioma foundation and our new friends at curemeso.org gave us hope, current information and a place to turn when things seemed too much to bear. our family, friends, church and supporters are still helping us and today i was once again reminded of how Gods blessings show up when we need them, not necessarily when we want them. we miss rick. he was a son, a father, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a nephew, a husband, a teacher and a friend. but life goes on and we move forward. when you see my family, please say hi. tell me a rick or a team doolin story. hearing stories from the past is creating our new story. ask me how im doing right now and expect the truth. right now, i am proud to have been mrs. rick doolin. we had an imperfect, yet adventurous 20+ years together and i have two imperfect, yet amazing boys to raise. God has provided through it all and given me a new respect for life. and it goes on. thank you. live long and prosper.
