thank you to all men and women who have served in the military. veterans deserve sooooo much more than they have - they deal with after-effects of serving on a daily basis. some eye-opening stats - 1 in 3 women in the military are raped by their fellow co-workers in the military (its under-reported for many reasons i wont go into here), and about 1 in 3 of the homeless are veterans. we should be protecting our military from things - THEY protected our country. if you know anyone - friend, family or even a stranger that served - tell them thank you today - and let them know about some of the restaurants that offer free meals today for veterans. im only listing a couple here - but there are lots more - obed & issacs - here in s-field is offering a free meal - call ahead for hours. all texas roadhouses in the country are offering a free LUNCH between 11 am - 3 pm today from their veterans menu. applebees is offering a free meal anytime today 11 am - 12 midnight from their veterans menu. of course the veteran should bring some sort of proof of military service - like dog tags, or a paper, or a part of an uniform with their name. happy veterans day:)
