thanks Prasanta Mahato for nominating me for this game... well this challenge is really catching everyone...well i accept the challenge to pick my fav 10 footballers....i have decided to only choose players who played after i have started watching football ...so my list goes like this... 1)Leo Messi ..a year ago ..i was bit like a Cristiano fan boy...i was obsessed with him..and i supported real madrid in a classico duel for the same reason...but this little man from Rosario,Argentina...has done enough to convince me to take the no 1 position in the list of my all time favourite footballers...watching him play is always a delight my eyes ..that swift dribbling skills, that fake lean over one side and gliding past the defender in the other direction magical ball control, that impossible balance and of course his magical left foot never fails to mesmerize me Jaw dropping moment :A 19 year old Messi takes on 6 defenders and the goal keeper and scoring an incredible solo goal after coming as a substitute to introduce himself to the world. link:youtube/watch?v=NtyIkfl_t-4 2Cristiano Ronaldo...the complete attacker and the greatest winger i have seen...the ballon d or holder has all the attributes of a attacker pace ,quick feet, strength(though he sometimes goes down easily when fouled),clinical finishes with both his feet, and an incredible heading quality....there was a period in 2008 during his Manchester United days that whenever he stepped up to take a freekick the ball is almost going to reach the back of the net or hit the bar...a truely hard working athlete who always does try to do his best Jaw dropping moment:Ronaldo s amazing flick with his right foot to beat pique and scoring a thunderous shot against a hapless valdes link:youtube/watch?v=TxrdpJbiITI 3Thierry Henry An Arsenal fan cannot complete his list of favourite players without this man..An exceptional number 9....Titi,as he was called by his Arsenal team mates was primarily a winger when he was bought by Arsene Wenger from juventus...but he turned out to be one of the deadliest strikers the premier league has ever seen..without him and Cesc Fàbregas ..i would have been still watching cricket. Jaw Dropping moment:Henry takes a perfect free kick...but referee Graham poll seemed to have a problem with it and tells him to take the free kick again ...and here what he does....steps up...shoots and bang!!into the back of the net...turns to the referee and says IS THAT ENOUGH?? link:youtube/watch?v=nQCd-VN9Opk 4Andres Iniesta...the most celebrated player of the greatest spain squad ever assembled...the David copperfield of football...boy did i spend hours and hours of watching his dribbling skills on youtube..this man can pass with any part of his boot with 100 percent accuracy Jaw dropping moment:scoring the 116 th min goal against Netherlands at Johannesburg to give Spain the world cup Link:youtube/watch?v=ThinAw_CFAo 5Ronaldo Nazário de Lima Almost everyone has this man on their list....back then in 1998...like all bengalis i was a fan of Brazil and this man defined football for me..i cried a lot when a certain zinedine zidane broke a million hearts when France defeated Brazil at Paris...next day at my school I had an article writing thing for the annual magazine...i decided to write my article about this man ..i mentioned there how i loved watching him play ,how i had my hero in him and that he will be back in the next world cup with a bang ...and in 2002 he became the golden boot winner with an incredible 8 goals haul. jaw dropping moment :a saw a video of him in a barcelona shirt where he took on 2 central defenders at the same time ...and then rounding the goal keeper scored an absolute beauty..speed check, power check technique check awsomeness check!!!!! link : the third goal of this video youtube/watch?v=hn6Sl8nJYBI 6)Steven Gerrard ...What a player he is ..the liverpool talisman is a player of his own league ....his inspirational captaincy..his intelligent man marking..his pin point accuracy passing ability and his trademark long shots from distance make him my favourite British player ahead of Wayne Rooney Frank Lampard Ashley Cole and others Jaw dropping moment:..his extra time half volley from 40 yards in the 2006 Fa cup final at wembley with martin tylars signature Gerrraaaaaarddd!!! shout in the back ground makes the top of most searched videos in almost all liverpool fans youtube channel link:youtube/watch?v=7CWEHefhtZg 7)Zinedine Zidane..the Algeria born midfielder would have been further up in any one elses list but i have only seen him during the world cups ...i have not seen much of his football at the club level (due to poor broadcasting of serie a and laliga during those days)....he was the last classical dribbler...he could control the ball not only with his feet but with any part of his body..no one coul carry a team alone like this man..his man of the match performance against Brazil at the 2006 woprld cup against Brazil showed what a footballing genius he was ..SAF once said give me 10 pieces of wood and zidane ...and i will get you the champions league jaw dropping moment :his exquisite volley against Bayer leverkuesen in the 2003 champions league final link:youtube/watch?v=E3BLrgvgHnE 8)andrea pirlo...the best deep lying playmaker of this generation ...the swift movement with the ball at and the ability to find his teammates anywhere on the field marks this cool beared footballers killer instincts jaw dropping moment:his panenka scoop over joe Hart at the 2012 euro link:youtube/watch?v=ltHUdQjymfA 9Fernando 9 Torres...well well i am not here to troll any one ....back then when i started watching regular club football....this man was at his best ...and belive me or not he was(unfortunately not is) a great striker...his partnership with gerrard is like a match made in heaven...the best i have seen....the last of the traditional number 9..torres could run between the defenders like no one other his three and a half year stay at anfield was like a fairy tale Jaw dropping moment:personally i like all of his goals in liverpool shirt link:youtube/watch?v=jiU2RAufb0o 10)this list could not end without the ones who tried to teach me how to play this beautiful game(though they failed)...this slot is reserved for my team mates Prasanta Mahato(the best footballer of our colllege. Souvik Sardar Subhasis Neogi Arka Dey Sabuj Roy Indranil Ghosh Rahul Sarkar and many others...thank you for making most of my evenings so wonderful...and thank you football...life would have been a more difficult one with out you.... I would like to nominate Sounak Kundu Sombuddha Dey Souvik Sinha Deb Arpan Kumar Pan and Ujjal Ozillian Mondal to name their favourite 10 footballers
