thanks everyone re your well wishes and also comments about chips which is really interesting. ive just got off the phone - its taken a while to track down vets, pound etc. there is a foxy cross in caloundra. not ruby. black and white. there was one found at mountain creek which was brown and white terrier, not her as male. one brown and white sounded exactly like her and registered, called carla, at yandina, but the lady at the pound was lovely and followed that up. its not ruby as theyve had her registered since january and knew the owner when reunited. the one with the tumor was the old male. so all came to nothing. still have to talk to zacs mother, as she wasnt home - she may have more information, or none, but it seems this trail has gone no where. so disappointing. heartbreaking.
