the Psalmist in psalms 77 say I cried unto God with my voice even unto God with my voice and He gave ear unto me, in verse 2 he says in the day of trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted, he then says I remembered God and was troubled I complained and my spirit was overwhelmed, he then says You hold my eyes waking I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old the years of ancient times, I call to remembrance my song in the night I commune with my own heart and my spirit made diligent search. now he begins to ask these questions . Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? Is His mercy clean gone for ever? doth His promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah. The psalmist comes to this conclusion, And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. the Psalmist in psalm 77 I think David Im not sure. He was crying out to God, and he came to a point that he says in verse 8 is His mercy clean gone forever doe His promise fail ever more verse 9 he says has God forgotten to be gracious has He in ager shut up His tender mercies ? sounds like the psalmist was going through a serious storm that seemed very dark , sounds like he felt so alone that, he began to question if God would have mercy and be Gracious to him again. to me this psalm sounds like a cry for help for God to calm the storm that he is in and also it seems that due to what the psalmist was going through at first his soul refused to be comforted. in verse 10-12 the psalmist says 10 And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. 11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. so the psalmist comes to the conclusion in this cry for help that he would remember the miracles God has done for him, he says thy wonders of old surely I will remember them. so when ever your doubting think about what God has done and know that He can do it again. in the darkest storm of my life I felt exactly like this and God took me to this psalm and gave me this message. hope this helps you like it did me. has your soul refused to be comforted? are you troubled and complaining ? are you overwhelmed so troubled you cannot speak ? have you begin to question God ? why this or why that or where He is in all of what your going through ? make diligent search with your own heart cry to the Lord, and as this psalmist wrote I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. remember the Lord. remember today what the Lord has carried you through and delivered you out of. remember How His Grace is sufficient. Trust in the Lord, Do not lean unto your own understanding.
