the keystone pipeline is going to be an issue again after 2016 - TopicsExpress

the keystone pipeline is going to be an issue again after 2016 because the republicans believe they can win the presidency......dont they understand the promise of thousands of jobs were not true: only 50 jobs plus the existing Keystone Pipeline had spilled 33 times in its first year alone and 14 times in the US. from Texas: Marie Martinez Carol Ann Hunigan Booherif all these pro pipeline had to live in the middle of this oil boom, they would think differently. I live down here in the middle of the S TX Eagle Ford Shale development and we have literally seen the landscape change. Our paved roads are turning into gravel and the state is doing nothing to fix them. Wrecks have doubled with many fatalities from these big trucks. The flare stacks can be seen for miles pouring tons of carcinogens of all types into the atmosphere 24/7. Our only source of water, our aquifer, is losing water at an unbelievable rate as the oil companies pull pure pristine water from it, put it in holding ponds, then fill it with chemicals to shoot down these wells. Then you have the residual effects of having to find a dumping ground for the fluid as its brought back out under pressure. People are literally having to wear masks as they have to live near these flare stacks and storage facilities. We have had fires when lightning hits them and just within the last two months, two workers were killed when they hit a pocket of natural gas during drilling. I have two Halliburton facilities and one Baker Hughes place within 15 miles of my house. The railroad has built a huge facility within 10 miles as well, bringing in fracking sand to be loaded on trucks to carry to these wells. The traffic is awful. This is an environmental nightmare and theres nothing stopping it. I want all the right wing idiots who think were going to be middle eastern oil free to wake up and realize that all this damage is benefitting no one but the countries who will pay the most for the oil and natural gas. A few people have become the modern Jed Clampetts...more money than they can spend....and the rest of us have to deal with it. What used to be a country place for me has turned into industrial development. The deliberate obtuseness of our representatives is disgusting. They know better, but they dont care. They are thinking private sector millions when they leave Congress. Until then, theyll take the dirty money while the rest of us take the dirty air and water. I know what Im talking about. Im living the nightmare.
