the old farm house had a really freaky basement even my mother ran up the steps. the door to the basement would just open on its own the bad part was you had to push it to close and catch so to open you had to turn the handle plus the people before us put a padlock on it . it didnt have an outside enterance so why the lock. the stairs to go up to the bedrooms was always aplace of fear, at night we could always hear boots comming up, my sister and i would lay awake and count the steps until who ever it was should have been at the top looking into our bedrooms but they would never show up and when we had cousins over it seemed the more running and playing we did what ever was in the house fed off it and the activity would pickup. there was alot of cold spots through out the house.we had a german shepard that would fight with coon ,coyote ,stray dogs anything that didnt belong there, one night he started growling at the basment door from across the room the door popped open he stood his ground but started peeing on the floor he was 6yrs old at the time my dad stoodup walked over shut the door put the lock on it about ten minutes later he did the samething but he started to bark and growl and move back and forth between basement door and door to the steps going upstairs needless to say we all slept in the livingroom that night.
