the other night I went grocery shopping. at the Kroger in Farragut this store is hugh: I had newspaper add in hand and a grocery list. I hope you all see the humor is this, first I have not grocery shopped for years, when my david goes most of the time I do not even go...so here I am I see the list david & I has written and I see how many of each item he wants me to get. he is a bargain hunter. So here I go 8pm at night after katy and he is in bed.. I walk into this hugh store every bit as big as a walmart superstore. I see the icecream isle first but decide to wait on that until last. GOODTHING I hit the pizzas up first, I see 3 for 10.00 sign. I get nine pizza ok it is Katys fav food, we have it once a week. dave told me to get ten but I see the sign and I get 9..i see white signs with prices, I see yellow signs with prizes and I know you have to have a card which we do for that. than I see this new type of sign it says 10 for 10.00 or 5.00 for 10.00 or 3 for !0.00 etc all of these are on the same item. three prizes is Kroger the author od confusion I thought Satan WAS???? hummmm As I am going down the isles, I am about have a panic attack. I grab what I can find on the list. I go by candy on the end isle 10 for ten. ok dave eats this candy so I think I guess I got to buy ten bags to get them this cheap , is this cheap is this a deal? how much does candy cost???? he gets the dollar store candy is it 10 oz or is it 12 oz..for a dollar regular price? oh carp I can not remember. So I put the ten bags in the cart and go on. I need tuna ok here is this 10 for ten again. it has a heart on the can. I was nurse 14 years heart healthy is a good thing. Why does it have a heart on it and the other tuna does not have one???? What makes this tuna special do they add things to the tuna? crap I only need a couple of cans and Dave said to keep i the grocerys around a hundred... so I throw ten cans in the buggy to get the deal? is it a deal how much does tuna sell for now?????? It must be good it has a heart on it? A dollar piece sounds fair.. I go up and down the isles and ask two people where the raisons are. I find them with the cereal I guess that makes since put the dried fruit with the dried cereal???? I look oh my word here is the prices again one two three....ugh, ouch they want for the cheapest one 1.99 for a small box. not the big box dave gets. they want 4.99 for those and that is to much I remember him paying I think 2.99 for the same thing at walmart.. oh my word.by this time the buggy is full and I have most everything on the list... I go back for the icecream. I see some icecream cones...about 15 different boxes sizes & types. I see the dreaded horrible, white & yellow signs again..what does 5 for 10 mean???? 10 for ten??? oh my word I can not buy ten boxes of cones we would never eat them all before they went stale oh my word ok think ginger what would David do oh never mind, he is not here and you can nto call him to wake him up... ugh ok buy the cheapest box by the white label. or better yet cheapest looking cones by the picture on the box..so I do and move to the icecream oh man the butterfinger type sure looks good.but I need to lose weight. and the buggy is full and I have not idea how much this is going to cost, I have not kept a running total anyway.. so just stick to the list. I get to the counter, the lady is helpful and says did you find everything ok??? was this a loaded question??? I said ok finding the raisons was very hard and odd. but what does all this 10 for 10 mean?? and do I have to buy ten??? no but if it is 5 for ten you do???? I did not bother to put anything back I just had them ring it up 100, 120, 164 oh my word dave is going to have a fit LOL.....but they took off 34.00 so it was 124. which I thought was awesome because I made it through the store without a heart attack and without cussing..and saving 30 plus dollars. so there it is. dave bless his heart calls me the next day and say man you went a little over budget and Sandra is sitting next to me. . he sounded annoyed but ok.. so I kinda did not go into it with him about shopping etc. I said I got you ten bags of candy. he aid honey I have to teach you all over again about shopping dont I. I said yeap. After I hung up Sandra said you went over budget. I said yeap. she said what did you do I said well I had a debit card and I used it. she said did you write down the totals as you went I said no I was not concerned with that. she said did you all have enough in the bank to cover it. I said I do nto know. I had a debit card and I used it. by the time I was done telling her the story we both where in tears and laughing so hard. how does anyone survive grocery shopping?
