the school system has way to many issues. rather than teaching people to be who they want, it teaches them to be like everyone else, it teaches people that if you want to pray at school that is it wrong, they preach healthy eating, but they provide pizza, cookies, and other various dessert foods, they treat you like you are a servant of your teachers and elder peers. There are many life skills that must be obtained that are not taught, such as balancing a checkbook, paying ones taxes, dealing with stress, or teaching you to find a work-life balance. They say you need good school-home balance, but yet they give you homework that takes hours every night, leaving you with 4 hours of sleep, a bunch of stress and confusion, all for what? standardized tests, when really, none of us are standard. different levels of math, science and English, yet we are expected to take the same test. the United States was recently ranked 36th country in education, but we have the longest amount of time spent in school. mostly directed towards the american high school education system, college is an exception to this of course.
