thecitizen.in Kejriwal In Direct Fight Now With Modi In Varanasi, Other Candidates Virtually Out Of The Race By SEEMA MUSTAFA Fri may 02, 2014 NEW DELHI: Varanasi has become the fulcrum of the last phase of polling, with Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal moving ahead of the Congress party’s Ajay Rai for a direct confrontation with BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Perseverance and a gruelling house to house, village to village campaign has paid off and Kejriwal has managed to lift the Varanasi election into a direct fight with the BJP, with all other candidates virtually out of the race. So much so that the BJP and Amit Shah who is personally supervising the campaign are worried, and have sent word to Modi not to take Varanasi for granted. The BJP leader is expected in Varanasi for yet another round of campaigning on May 5, with the buzz in the BJP being that he will finally take a leaf or two out of Kejriwal’s book and camp in the city to meet people directly.
