thecookybaristadiaries The Coffee Food Chain! On average I - TopicsExpress

thecookybaristadiaries The Coffee Food Chain! On average I will tend to drink roughly two to three caffeinated drinks/coffee everyday. This is how I personally feel coffee drinkers could choose to drink their coffee if they have an love affair much like myself. The Primes: These would be your average coffee corporations, coffee houses and local cafe’s around your area and any place that makes excellent espresso drinks and have variety of what you can order on the menu. This however DOES NOT include McDonald’s, or any fast food joint companies that try getting *espresso drinks* among their menu line up. The Secondaries: This would be the place where you’d get a specific brew from a website you purchase from, or buy whole sale or even purchase in bulk that not many people are too fondly aware of. This category would also technically fit into the Primes if this is technically the only way you personally prefer to fancy your coffee, however if you’re a city kind of gotta get out of the house goer like myself, you’ll tend to lean towards the coffee houses a bit more. This category would also include the lucky sons of unicorns that can own an ACTUAL espresso machine in their very own home! I will get to this point one day. The Third Classers: Generally I DO NOT EVER like to lean towards “coffee stands" AT ALL. One, yes the baristas make good business and it’s gourmet coffee on the go. However I find a lot of the employees fairly in my area not so passionate or interested on their coffee and drinks. It’s more than just making drinks to put it into terms, it’s all about the freshness, the product you carry, why you make coffee, the timing, oh god if there was a list bigger than Santa’s naughty or nice list the whole idea of making the perfect cup of coffee would be it. Here are some reasons why; 1. Mocha is NOT and I repeat NOT COFFEE. It is the fancy word for a gourmet chocolate drink with espresso in it yes, but do NOT try tricking me into thinking the actual mocha sauce itself is coffee. I know better, I’m not a big chocolate fan so when I prefer a blended frappuccino with a random flavor of my choice I want to taste ESPRESSO. Not mocha, unless I were to say other wise. 2. Please, please, please know how to count your change right. I know you’re busy and I understand this completely yes but if I have to drive back to get the right amount of change how do you think me being the consumer myself feels? Or if you *accidentally* give me too much change in America these days do you really think I’d miss the opportunity to keep that extra $5.00? It will make me, the consumer happy yes, but you’re also risking your job opportunity as a barista, or a baristo in the long run. Gee, you’re so great at math. 3. Another thing, please actually drink coffee, or know your coffee lingo at least the stuff on your menu. If you don’t drink coffee why work with coffee? And tea even? Sure I understand there is the open door of opportunity I took myself before I earned my first barista job, but I drank coffee regularly before then, did a lot of research on my possible new passion, and took many notes. (***This was back when I was a sophomore in high school and still just comprehending the idea- “Olivia, what if you had your own cafe’ and made coffee the rest of your life?!") -> The most kick ass moment of my life I believe ::) The Fourth Steppers: This class in my opinion now leads up to faulty companies such as McDonald’s McCafe’ or whatever Burger King has got lined up and what not. This is something I would only go for if ALL OF THE ABOVE choices were out of my reach. Hopefully this never happens. The Fifth Place Pioneers: Once again, because I am the foo-foo quad, or five shot coffee drinking girl actually brewing regular coffee at home is not necessarily a divine idea to contemplate over, unless I’m trying a new brand of coffee yes, but I can also do this at work (*oh the joys of sampling something new*) So because of my personal standards with coffee this is my second to last resort, I don’t have anything against brewed coffee, it’s just not my style at the moment. The God Awful Last Resort, Also-Known-As the UGLY! GAS STATIONS! What does that say to you? Fast, cheap, reliable, has the stuff you need on the go kind of thing and smaller than a Walmart. Just the idea of someone even beginning to THINK I would ever accept this offer would hopefully wish to never see me in broad daylight. I’d have to have somehow either gone a year without coffee and gained the stupidity of what quality good coffee really is, be homeless- ->*wait nope I take that back, I would sing to make money for coffee shop coffee still!* So moving forward I would RATHER DRINK TAP WATER, SINK WATER ANY GOD DAMN DAY than ever go near a cheap, overly sweet shitty, all the flavors taste the same, plus a gahbajillion calories to go along with it, watered down piece of shit gas station coffee. Conclusion; And this my friends is my food chain of coffee. Thanks for taking a gander ::)
