Colby was my 9 year old, four legged love. She was a full-of-life dog who loved to explore the world, made friends and cuddle. She was always ready to share her world with people by offering them her favorite bone or toy. All she wanted in return was pets and cuddles. When Grandmother was alive, Colby loved to visit at the lodge where Grandmother lived. All the residents who laughed at her antics and petted her to distraction welcomed her. Everybody loved to see her just as she loved to see them too. The older people called her “wiggle bum” because when she was wiggled tail her whole back moved, just like she was dancing. The elders were her “star dance partner’s when she visited the lodge. When I was not feeling well she knew. Four years ago, she kept me company for couple days when I had to be isolated from the rest of my friends and family. She put her head gently on any spot where I had a muscle ache, knowing where it hurt the most, and licked my hands. She looked up at me with her soft brown eyes and reassured me that this would pass and soon we would be out running in the park where she could chased the squirrels and played with the other dogs in the dog park. Thank you Colby for joy and love you gave me. You gave me your unconditional love and didn’t ask anything in return.
