& then… :) Last month I took part in the Raindance 48 hour - TopicsExpress

& then… :) Last month I took part in the Raindance 48 hour competition – where we got a theme on Friday at 7pm and by Sunday 7pm we had to write the story, shoot, edit, compose music and submit the final film. This was a truly intense experience – which was totally worth it! What made it even more special is working with the actors and a bunch of amazing people who supported me throughout the 48 hour to get this film made. We were the runners up at the competition and had an ‘honorable mention’ – however the true success was in getting the film made in less than 48 hours. After editing it, what I felt was that I just made a small Christmas film – and I wanted it to share it with you guys on this blessed day! :) The true highlight of this movie is the 3 little angels!! 3 first time actors who stayed with me all the way until late night. Not once did they complain that they were tired or didn’t want to act. I was amazed to see their energy levels – considering one of them is a 4 year old and other two were 8 year olds! And their parents – when it was around 11.45 pm, I was waiting for at least one of the them to say ‘when’s he gonna finish the shoot?’ – but in return the response I got was ‘take your time, don’t rush at all – just don’t worry about us’. I was speechless at those moments… Sidhu – who is true star, was with me right from the afternoon, until 4 am – when we got back home. What more – most of the shots were taken within the first take itself! I was in 2 minds about taking part in the competition, however it’s Mujeeb ikka who convinced me to take part and get it done! Yesu ettan – as the name suggests – was the savior! Without this guy – none of this would have been possible. I can’t thank enough the people who supported me throughout this journey. Without Yesu ettan, Abdul, Gagan, Sharaf, Shiva Manoj ettan, Meera chechi, Sidharth, Mujeeb Ikka, Rhiona’s family, Shreya kutti’s family, la hero Siddharth and ma bwoi Alan (Java) – this honestly wouldn’t have been possible. Shooting this film was fun and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. The one bit I had the least tension about was the music. As always there was the guy who the moment I call him, says ‘ok Vignesh, how long have I got left and what is the project?’. Ranit – this guy surprises me all the time! This is the 2nd of 3 projects we have collaborated this year, and am in awe each time – with the way he produces work in this short space! Ranit bhai – Aap Ko Salaam :) Hope you all have a Merry Christmas filled with full of blessings and happiness. One of the most frequent quotes that I happen to see all the time during the Christmas season is ‘Sharing is caring’. So if you enjoyed the film – feel free to share :) Happy Christmas people!!! :) :) :) https://youtube/watch?v=Kqy14qZBOlY
