there have been moments (many) in the last 5 days where i have been so overwhelmed with the pain in my arm that i can do nothing but cry. this morning - very discouraged after not getting more than 2 hrs of sleep at a time. i began to go under once again with despair, feeling theres no relief in sight - when i was reminded to shift my perspective into thankfulness. hard to do in the middle of intense pain but i began to realize how thankful i am for the perfect timing in God bringing Karoline to help me in the kitchen and for Darcy Vargo my faithful and loyal sidekick - who takes life in the kitchen by storm. she is afraid of nothing. so in my absence these 2 are taking care of business. i began to thank Him for the thought of putting ice packs on my arm which deadened the pain enough for me to fall into a deep sleep. i thanked Him once again for my loving and supporting husband who is taking care of business here at home and taking good care of me. i also thanked Him for a wonderful phone conversation this morning with my sister Marita Chupp - helped to get my eyes off my naval and raise them up. i realize that at 1.30pm - my arm has NOT been throbbing and i am actually feeling hungry. i have been snoozing and also working on my puzzle. I lift up eyes to the hills where my help comes from. my help comes for the Maker of heaven and earth. though the earth give way and though this pain in my arm never goes away - i will continue to find things to be thankful for.
