there was an interesting discussion on a friends page this morning regarding our prisons being soft option some one even thought the death penalty should be brought back, wonder if she would like to carry it out. We tend to think, that though prisoners are in jail and deserve punishment prison should not be dehumanising. i then did some research and found this.Just goes to show that treating people with compassion gets good results. Not that I consider going this far is necessary but definitely they should be able to work and where needed get help with skills and education.
