Gemini rules the third house, and the lessons of the third house are taught early in life. Where the eternal child is sovereignty, we are wide eyed children once again, and absolutely curiously fascinated at every medium passing through us. We are learning to apply language to our conscious experience and the tactile senses experienced in the second house. The third house is like putting on a pair of glasses after having blurred vision. It’s being able to see clearly and broadcast your message to the world. The third house provides our first classroom experience. It’s our primary school teachers who taught us to read and write, our parents who responded however they could to our primitive inquisitiveness, and our siblings who shared their own learning experience with us. The third house is the excitement of children reading their first sentence or saying their first word. Mercury switches on the light in the eyes, and the world comes alive. It’s an invitation to run away into the magical world of stories, or communicate something meaningful to the people around you. The third house is flashing telephone wires, instant wifi connection, the echo of 24-hour news networks and the silence of study halls. It’s the giggles of toddlers immersed in fairy tales or the secret love letters passed in class. It’s the little child inside you that shouts ‘why?!’ at everything you see and hear. And it’s the library that has all the answers. And when you feel parts of your brain light up like neon fire when you listen to your favorite song, or you feel the chills up your spine as you read beautiful poetry, or the love swell in your chest as your having sleepy, meaningful 3am conversations, than remember being taught to interpret this in the third house. Remember being taught how to turn this seemingly random assortment of symbols on a screen into a personal bubble of colour, noise, sound and rainbow drenching. The third house is ruled by Gemini.
