things are getting pretty crazy over here in our corner of the pond ... i see a lot of senators (and uneducated internet trolls) speaking out about how what Obama did was conspire to commit a power-grab in order to advance the liberal agenda by reducing the balance of power and increasing unilateral executive power. which might make for a decent argument, if congress had been getting anything done recently. which they havent. at all. and now theyre all revitalized in some sort of crusade to reign in the powers of the executive branch even further, which to me sounds like even more sitting on their hands (in between 3 day recesses, of course. BTW, my 3 day weekends are pretty few and far between, let alone my 10 day weekends, and i would think that most Americans could relate to that, but i digress...) i guess to me, another reasonable interpretation of his actions could be to entertain the possibility that he took office (nay, STARTED a political CAREER) with the intent of HELPING PEOPLE and GETTING THINGS DONE. Hell, he originally ran on a campaign of CHANGE. But hes been pretty open for a while now regarding his frustrations with congresss willful, deliberate, and coordinated attempts to stonewall his every action at every turn. so today the supreme court, in an effort to preserve our founding fathers primary goal of dividing and separating the powers of government, upheld congresss power to bring our entire political process to a complete halt. indefinitely. this comes just two days after Boehner announced intentions to file a (taxpayer funded) lawsuit against the sitting president , and naturally, some people feel that todays supreme court decision provides further support/evidence for such a lawsuit. Boehner expresses concern only for The People, and he really just wants to protect us all from king-obamas destructive unchecked and illegally-unilateral policy decisions and seat appointments, so we should get him out of office as soon as possible. except, the supreme court already protected us from an over-extension of one branchs power, by deciding that the actions taken were invalid, so isnt that concern kinda invalid as well? theres also a lot of people out there throwing the word impeachment around, though most experts on that sort of thing acknowledge that his final term will end long before the whole impeachment trial thing could be concluded. but dont worry, Boehners on the case. actually, he will be. when congress gets back from holiday vacation next month. usatoday/story/news/politics/2014/06/26/supreme-court-obama-senate-appointments/8528059/
