this afternoon I watch a another movie call Gangs of New York my thought it is one of my favorite historical drama film and it one of my favorite movie of the 2000s it was Director by Martin Scorsese it was Release on December 20 2002 the reason why I love this movie is because scope and size the massive sets designed by Dante ferretti was built in Rome the sets was physical theyre really there people would live they the sets really do feel really it brings realism to its the sets are beautiful it look very old fashioned and the costumes design by sandy Powell are very well put together with great of accounting all of the clothes has that a very old fashioned look to them they use bus tralee horse carriage to get around or they walk another reason why I love this movie is because of the performance Daniel day Lewis was perfectly cast as bill the butcher because he truly believe in what he fighting for speaking with a guttural intellectual tone he is respectful of his enemies but entirely uncompromising and frightening when dealing with them he own this movie ever single scenes that he was in he steal the show Leonardo DiCaprio was perfectly cast as Amsterdam vallon because of his faux accent chewing through the wordy and period accurate dialect effortless you can see it in his eye he want revenge on Bill The Butcher so badly for killing his own father when he was a little kid and he got his revenge on Bill The Butcher Cameron diaz also giving a great performances she was very beautiful very strong independence she also had perfect chemistry with Daniel day Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio and it is expertly photographed there is no denying the flawless aptitude at which 19 century new York is recreated every last element is surprisingly detailed and authentic I love the opening and closing battle sequence because they are epic thrilling gritty violent emotional very well stages and very flawless put together I love ending battle between the 2 gang is epic very crazy because they set their town on fire and building was on fire and the 2 gang beat up a lot of police office too and lot of riot and Mayhem the police office shoot lot of people in the gang because 2 gang really want to face off against each other and have a big brawl the musical score by Howard shore is epic I love all of the track gangs of new York did very well at the box office it made over 193,772,504 and Richard roeper a movie critic call Gangs of New York the best movies of 2002 on the TV show call roeper and Ebert at the movies Gangs of New York also won nominations for 10 Academy Awards but did not won any which make me very angry but it did won 2 Golden Globe Award like best song call The Hands That Built America and Martin Scorsese won a Golden Globe Award for Best Director overall gangs of new York really captures a area in history that not too many movies can of dont wanna show and it one of my favorite movie that Martin Scorsese has Director I am very proud to giving gangs of new York a perfect 10 out of 10 !!!!!!!
