this has suddenly made me realise: procrastination is a completely logical and reasonable evolutionary response to the uncertainty of life and the fact that i could die in a freak accident tomorrow morning. in light of that, present bias makes total sense - the rewards in the future might be greater, but theres a chance i wont be around to experience them. perhaps those who procrastinate the most have a higher awareness of the fragility of life/are more paranoid?
