this is for my oldest daughter. Happy Happy birthday my dear Teresa, When you were born, you had two older brothers ....you can just imagine the pleasure and excitement when the doctor showed me a precious little bundle that represented ribbons and bows instead of bugs and mud. Yes you are a girly girl, but have also had a smite of boyish that would come naturally from two older brothers always including you in their mischief, I remember the time you got your first perm..only to last a few hours because you decided to go swimming with the boys, You were always the peace maker and so many times you protected your older brothers from punishment that they should have been given. You could always come up with a reason why they did what they did,, and crazy enough it somehow always made sense. You became the little mother in the house, you helped with each new sibling as they arrived. We were urban homesteaders before the term was popular and the whole family took part in our home life style...You learned to cook, can, freeze. dehydrate, garden, sew your own clothes, bee keep and take care of animals and even help dress freshly slaughtered chickens/ You were always a equal player in whatever business the family did whether it was selling vegetables, delivering newspapers, or running a family florist business. You gave your first lecture on how to repurpose for the university of Arizona in front of over 100 people when you were barely ten years old. You had your share of being featured in newspaper articles and even was featured regularly on your dads television program. You enjoyed playing the violin and was a wonderful floral arranger. You brothers always called you sweeta. and that name has stuck. You have always been very sweet. You were a joy to raise, no drama , no rebellion, just a wonderful partner in whatever we all wanted to do. We were always happy as a family together and you were always ready and willing for one of my crazy adventures. There was the day we could not get into the dressing room to take off our old lady makeup after a theater production at EAC and we rode on bicycles from thatcher to Pima with grey wigs and old lady faces. The truckers would honk, then get a look at our faces and nearly run off the road... The year we needed extra money and chopped weeds in the cotton fields all summer. Our adventures at the swap meets could fill a book, then the car that your brother gave me to drive around when daddy was at work..... it could not go in reverse and you had to climb in the windows because the doors did not work. But that car gave us freedom and a thousand laughs. What a wonderful life we had,,,and much of that is because you had such a wonderful wonderful fun exciting upbeat personality.. My wish is that every mother could have such a gift from God as a daughter as special as you. I have been blessed. I know your children and husband have been blessed by your fabulous fantastic unbelievable love of life.Mom
