this is from that free class, I still havent seen it: enjoy Hello Walking Dead Students! I really appreciated your creative responses to last week’s discussion prompts! It’s clear that you recognize the importance of public health’s role in our society. At the same time, you were also very realistic that the same conditions facing the survivors are present in the larger society and that the CDC may be equally powerless without manpower and the ability to use technology. Many of you were quick to make comparisons between the walker virus and other viruses. You mentioned H1N1, AIDS, SARS, measles, influenza, swine flu, Lyme disease, and whooping cough, among others. I was impressed with the parallels you were able to identify. Keep also in your mind that communicable diseases can be of viral origin or bacterial origin. The treatment is different based on the origin of the disease and the symptoms, but having a strong functioning immune system is key to both of them. This week we’re back with Dr. Christopherson, who will be sharing with you Six Models of Society and how they apply to the various communities weve observed in The Walking Dead.
