Hi Daniel, Its pretty simple to remove hologramming and swirling with Final Inspection Auto Boutique Ultra Fine and a Black LD pad It doesnt really matter what speed you use as long as it on the lower end of the scale, we use between 900rpm and 1200rpm, the most important factors are machine choice and skill level. Jet Black curvy cars are difficult and the cayman in jet black (non-metallic) is a detailers final exam. The Final Inspection range makes it simple, in fact, its so simple, we thought wed demonstrate it by documenting the process with a 2 minute, completely unedited video -with a camera phone so there is no trickery that we could possibly use with our cinema cameras and post production processes. So here it is, removing hologramming quickly and easily with CAP Ultra Fine and a Black (150mm) LD pad on a rotary polisher. NB: A rotary polisher is a professional machine, using a Random Orbital may reduce the chances of inducing hologramming, so perhaps attempt the same processes with one of those types of machines. Having said that, a Random Orbital is not considered a professional machine by Final Inspection, it is an enthusiasts/amateur machine and a rotary will achieve the best results, results that should be achieved by professionals when being paid for detailing work in our opinion. What separates weekend detailers from true, high-end professionals as far as paint correction is concerned, is the ability to achieve efficient and very high gloss, flawless finishes. Random Orbitals consistently perform slower and yield lower gu (gloss units) with the same exact materials. If you are having to use an RO to achieve hologram-free finishes in jet black cars, perhaps seek training from a detailing company that provides it or from your product supplier.
