this is so perfect ! A bit of a back story. I was never formally trained as an illustrator or even consider myself to be one. Ive some excellent lessons from some excellent teachers but for the most all I know is self taught ( be it through watching / tracing / mimicking / whatever ). What this has done for me is allowed me to be malleable in style and I worry that this might be a detriment. But anyways .. watching this video is really inspiring. First its relevance today is still fantastic. The process of working together and forgoing individual style for the benefit of the whole is very important and applies to almost all team creative professionals. I especially love how they re-enforce this idea by showing how variant the styles turn out. Its also really important because I find once you enter and agency or a particular brand, you tend to get stuck with status quo but at your core level .. you need to remember the things that draw you to a project. The idea of creation is to place an aspect of yourself into the work you are creating. Im not the most articulate and this is kind of a rant or a bit of a reminder or whatever.
