this popular retail chain apparently wrote a huge check to a mosque associated with the terror group Hamas... its pure insanity. Major Retail Chain Writes Huge Check to Mosque Associated With Islamic Terror Group Sam’s Club supported a Florida mosque named after a man considered to be one of the fathers of the modern jihadist movement and whose former leader was convicted under the Patriot Act for supporting Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Last year, Sam’s Club donated $2,500 to the Islamic Community of Tampa, also known as the Al-Qassam mosque. Pictured below is a sign Sam’s Club made to look like a check indicating the donation. A vigilant supporter of the Florida Family Association noticed a sign bragging on the donation on the wall near the checkout line of the Brandon, Fla., location of the chain, which is owned by WalMart. He snapped the picture, as well as pictures of other donations memorialized on the wall. None of the others were for amounts of greater than $500. Izzedin al-Qassam was a Syrian jihadist killed in 1935 who, according to Palestinian scholar Ziad Abu Amr, “is the main source of inspiration for the Islamic Jihad movement,” according to FFA. “The Islamic Jihad’s supporters have elevated him almost to a saintly status.” The Military Wing of the Palestinian Hamas is called the Al-Qassam Brigade, and many of the rockets fired into Israel earlier this year were designated Qassam rockets, FFA reported. Moreover, the mosque was led by Sami Al-Arian, a former University of South Florida professor who was indicted in 2003 on 17 violations of the Patriot Act for his support of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. He ultimately pleaded guilty to one count in a deal that resulted in the other charges being dropped. This is the sign in question: CLICK LINK We would like to think that Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart were unaware of these connections when they made their donation to the harmless-sounding “Islamic Community of Tampa.” The size of the donation — reportedly five times that of any other — is unusual and problematic, however. American companies should not support organizations that have anything in common with radical Islamic terrorists like Hamas, much less those that share a name with them. Next time you’re in your local Sam’s Club, check out their walls for donations like these — maybe you’ll be surprised at what you find. conservativetribune/retail-chain-check-mosque-terrorist/
