this weekend, Jaime and I watched a classic: American History X. This movie adds texture to our seeing Selma the week before. Jon, my brother and I used to watch this movie all the time. Its such an utter work of art as it reveals the humanity behind the monster. While you cant stream it on Netflix, you can stream it (for the same fee you would have at a video store) on Amazon. Huge recommendation here. But I will warn you: this movie is very violent and its very disturbing and for some, may even be triggering. But I would say its one of the best films of the nineties and is so important to watch a familys dynamic that is dealing with an addiction to racism and where the roots of that racism originated. If were going to get through this as a nation, were going to need to get through this as a nation.
