this year in april during the american part of my 25 YEARS OF DJING tour i was playing for a festival called DESERT HEARTS, northeast from LA in the desert, which belonged to the gigs that are burned in my memory forever. having still never been to BURNING MAN, i had the feeling this was like a miniature version of it, soaked with this original westcoast vibe and the associated people with the love for making an open air event with endless love and care love for all these details, that you need to make it a very special and memorable experience, a party like a ritual. there it happened on the last morning, that i played a set, that seemed to just hit the right tone for the moment, that was getting everybody on their feet again after a long cold night and that was magic for myself in the moment of sunrise. i am very touched by what the promoters from DH wrote about it: When we first learned wed confirmed DJ T. to play our Desert Hearts Spring Festival, there was a collective shock of disbelief and astonishment that ran through all of us. DJ T. had been one of our biggest idols for as long as we could remember, and now he was going to headline our desert festival which started from such humble beginnings. This was a We made it... moment for us. As we started curating the flow of DJs for our 70 hour non-stop party, we only had one time slot in mind for DJ T. Sunday Sunrise.
