to all my SAGHS girls: first of all, i know yall does be slacking. come on man, you cant fool me. you cant dupe this hip young thing. take just an hour and a half out of that time-wasting (which you shouldnt do too often btw) and please watch this. and watch it with an open mind. its about problematic portrayal of women in the media and how it has real life consequences. theres a belief that the media doesnt really affect us that much - its just TV its just a video game its not real life but thats wrong. you need to be able to critically evaluate what youre taking in each and every day. and you need to recognise how powerful the media is. we would all like to think were above the media, but unless were able to see past it and dissect it and examine it, were not. this focuses on American women and American media but none of you can tell me that American media doesnt penetrate Trinidad and Tobago, and doesnt affect us. because it does, and you know it. whats being said is still extremely relevant to us, and they mentioned a lot of issues that are not pertinent to american women specifically, for example not treating female politicians as seriously as male counterparts. So... yeah watch it because i love you
