to put into context the extent of this tragedy, the deaths that occurred were far greater than the casualties in the maguindanao ampatuan massacre. and this involved an armed group disregarding the authority of police forces serving a warrant of arrest on a known malaysian terrorist. but what is really sad is that we see a government that does not see human beings but rather as tools to advance (or as obstacles to) a political agenda or as stepping stones to power. we discern this from the governments policy of viewing babies as burdens (hence, the rh law). and again when this government saw it fit to spend money to hide 8,000 street kids from the pope rather than care for them in a dignified way. and finally, this. government apologists are quick to confuse the issue: suggesting that the saf were killed because of their greed for fbi reward money or that their deaths are due to poor coordination. and rather than see 64 deaths as as the loss of 64 fellow human beings, with 64 grieving families, this government instead sees obstacles to the bangsamoro accommodation that needs to be managed. ~ Atty.
