to whom it may concern, My name is Melissa Oneal. I had a rescue dog for 13 years. his name was Spirit. He was amazing and very loved by my self and our big family. At the end of January 2013 he ran off to the nearest pond like usual. a few hours later a friend called and told me his pic was on fb he was at a clinic.. i i checked the site and sure enough Spirits big self was star and central on the page. I called to pick him up once again from his many runs but he had been transported to a shelter. I drove a few streets over and they gave me the news... the clinic had told them that he appeared to have mouth cancer. The many seizures i sat with him through the nights as he got older, helping him through his horrible pains of going to the bathroom since sometimes by beloved dog had arthritis in his hips hurt so bad he would howl and scream, the look in his eyes i knew i loved him so much and i couldnt stand to watch him suffer anymore so when i was told about his mouth cancer i made a decision to let him go free of pain. We had him put to rest and i still cry because i miss him God he was a gift to us for so many years. so...... In May my husband wanted to get a puppy for me for my birthday... i had to really think about it cause i understood something about loss that i had never known before. I opened my heart and we found Lucy. I had recently moved to Oklahoma and had a difficult time adjusting to the area from Florida. I didnt know anyone and lived way out in he country..a far cry from the gulf of mexico..Anyways, Lucy became my best friend. we didnt have cell phone service for several months nor internet so lost contact with my network. Lucy and i would go on long walks to the pond every morning and work on training in the afternoon. She hopped in the car with me every time i went somewhere. I work out of state and she always went with me. We usually stayed in pet friendly hotels but sometimes there were non so we packed lulu in a suitcase and rolled her in and out. Shes been to Florida with me several times, Mississippi, LA when my husbands grandmother was sick,also Texas, Arkansas, etc etc.. She was always ready for a trip. At night i would sing to her you are my sunshine and she would go nuts for bit then calm down, go to sleep, snore.. Shes a very funny girl. She doesnt really like children and I never tried to have her adjust to them. Shes unsure about everyone even if shes met them 10xs. She and I spent most of our time together and she is very protective of me. Never left my side. Shes trained to come, go, stay, shoot and she falls over, sit, get the ball and halt. Shes head strong for sure and have to stay 2 steps ahead at the dog park by watching her body language and eyes. Lucy was raised on a raw food only diet her first year then mostly chicken breast with dog food, shes allergic to a lot of things...she get these eye boogers and thats how to tell and she needs Benadryll!! She CANT eat flour products because it makes her sick .so again moving on.. Before Christmas one of our cattle got sick and my husband was treating her for meningitis. while we were all out of town with Lucy over the holidays 2014 our cow died. Lucy got into that cow before we could bury her..... We were starting Lucy on treatments and of medication and shots. So if this ever finds the person who either has her in their home or wherever she may be.... Lucy could have PARVO, RABBIES and MENINGITIS. If she bites you or another animal and she is in fact infected that will spread. Im sorry if my Lucy has suffered. I pray to God she hasnt. So again I simply ask if you know where she is or bring her back. Please do so we can treat her, love her and spend the rest of our lives with her. Sincerely, Melissa
